Rock Chorus was set up purely for those who want to experience the joy of singing - It doesnt matter what standard you may be at.

There are no auditions and there is no prior experience required to join Rock Chorus - it is all about having fun and making new friends into the bargain - pure and simple!!!

Rock Chorus is now out there performing concert dates which is a sheer Blast for all involved! - We perform at community and worthy charity events both large and small and also festivals (see Home Page - "Up Coming Events" Concert Dates 2010 for dates). The overall aim is Fun, Pleasure and Social but the performance element is crucial to keep us all motivated.

"The Health Benefits of Singing" are both physical and psychological. Singing has physical benefits because it is an aerobic activity that increases oxygenation in the blood stream and exercises major muscle groups in the upper body, even when sitting. Singing has psychological benefits because of its normally positive effect in reducing stress levels through the action of the endocrine system which is linked to our sense of emotional well-being.

"It can help us overcome depression"  "Singing is the best free drug going" says the wheelchair-bound musician Robert Wyatt of Sixties rock band Soft Machine. 
"It does what exercise does and more".

A recent study at the University of Stockholm showed that men and women got an oxytocin high when they sang. Oxytocin is not only the hormone of childbirth and lactation - it is also produced during sex. No wonder so many choristers describe sensations of "well-being" to curious researchers.

Psychological benefits are always evident when people sing together as well as alone because of the increased sense of community, belonging and shared Endeavour.
